Generally in starting of this you can go for long distance sprinting and short distance jogging but later on you can take more time to recover. It improves aerobic and anaerobic fitness and can be effective in improving your running speed and endurance.

Interval Training:- In this workout, you run with a faster pace for a shorter distance and then take rest for 2-3 minutes then start gain with run and take rest. Generally you repeat the cycle depending upon the intensity of the workout you have decided. Interval training is one of the most effective exercises for improving speed.
